There are many things that I don’t make the time to do on a regular basis that I probably should, moisturising being near the top of that list. Regularly going to the gym is probably number one but we’re not here to talk about that today, let’s focus on one issue at a time. I’m a self-confessed procrastinator and I don’t often realise how much I’m neglecting my skin from proper nourishment until it’s too late. When Winter approaches, I quickly get very dry and irritable skin that needs some proper TLC. As the colder season is fast upon us, this was the perfect time for Hempz to get in contact with me and give me the opportunity to try out some of their skincare products.
Hempz are a beauty brand that specialise mainly in skin and hair care. All of their products are enriched with 100% pure and natural hemp seed oil – hence the name – as well as a generous amount of pure herbal extracts and vitamins. Including hemp seed oil in skincare makes for a perfect recipe as it has been proven to help dramatically decrease skin dryness as well as helping to prevent irritation, the perfect solution if you have sensitive skin. Another great thing about Hempz is that all of their products are vegan friendly and cruelty free, meaning that everyone can enjoy them!
I was very kindly sent two products to try out from their ‘Aromabody’ range. This is the range that I’d had my eye on ever since first checking out their website as everything just sounds so luxurious and perfect for a good pamper. Plus, there are so many scents available that I’d find it difficult to be able to choose just one. Both of my products are ‘Milk & Honey’ scented but there’s also ‘Cinnamon Sugar & Vanilla Butter Creme’, ‘Blueberry Lavender & Chamomile’ and ‘Pumpkin Spice & Vanilla Chai’ among a selection of other scents. I already know that I’m going to need a selection of these scents as they sound almost good enough to eat.
This body whip is honestly just a big pot of pure joy. As soon as I opened the tub for the first time, I was greeted with the most amazing smell. I actually think it’s very similar to The Body Shop’s Vanilla Pumpkin scent but a little more subtle. All you do is massage the product onto wet skin in the shower and then rinse it off, it’s that simple. I love the two-in-one properties that this product provides as it works as an exfoliator as well as an in-shower moisturiser. I don’t actually feel the need to apply any additional moisturiser after my shower when I use this as it does an amazing job all on its own. This means minimal effort as well as being great for travelling purposes as it’s one less thing to pack. I have definitely noticed a change in my skin since using this product a couple of times a week, especially on areas that get dry easily such as my elbows and knees. I have sensitive skin on my legs and it doesn’t irritate them whatsoever – definitely a huge thumbs up from me!
This has very quickly become one of my favourite products, not only for Winter time but for all year round. I have to admit that at first I wasn’t completely sold, this moisturiser is quite thick and doesn’t immediately sink into my hands. I usually dislike this in a hand cream because it ends up leaving greasy residue all over the place but I’ve found a way to really make it work for me. I’ve included this product in my ‘getting ready for bed’ routine and since doing this, I wake up with the softest hands and feet ever. All I do is use a tiny amount to rub into my hands, then I do the same on my feet and put bed socks on over the top. This has honestly made such a big difference, plus the smell is just amazing and definitely a firm favourite of mine. I wouldn’t personally use this throughout the day and the bottle is a little bit bulky to be carrying around, but using it of a night time has completely diminished any dry skin I had.
