It’s now been over a year since I first started reviewing Look Incredible beauty boxes which is just a little bit crazy to me. I still feel like a new born in the blogging world, it doesn’t feel like that long since I was sat twiddling my thumbs trying to think of a blog name. However, I think I’ve officially decided to throw in the towel with Look Incredible – I was saying in my last review that I just wasn’t loving them as much as I used to and now I think I’m ready to try out some other similar boxes. It will be interesting to compare them and hopefully I’ll eventually find the ultimate subscription box. I’m looking forward to receiving a monthly box again as Look Incredible switched to bi-monthly which feels like such a long wait. Please let me know if you have any favourite subscription services!
First of all, this is probably the cutest packaging I’ve ever seen. I love anything vintage themed and this whole product just screams vintage. The palette consists of 6 cream products suitable to use as blushes or lipsticks, varying between different shades of pink and red. I love how travel friendly this is as it combines both a lip and cheek product, it comes in a protective sleeve and using creams rather than powders means there’s way less risk of breakage. I don’t usually use blush at all as I have naturally rosy red cheeks so I was a little intimidated by the bright colours at first. However, a little bit goes a really long way and they blend out really nicely to give a little flush of colour. I would definitely use this more for a vibrant red lip as I really love red lipstick and these give such an amazing pop of colour. I’m going to Japan in October and I feel like this would be a great palette to take with me on my travels because of its multiple uses.
I have to admit that I don’t usually buy Nails Inc polishes because even though I love them, there are cheaper alternatives that I go for to save a bit of money (Rimmel London and H&M do amazing nail polishes). This was a nice treat to receive and the colour is perfect for me as I tend to go for neutral colours on my nails. I only needed to apply a couple of coats and it lasted for well over a week without using any top coat which is pretty impressive. Although the price is quite high for a nail varnish in my opinion, the bottle is bigger than the usual polishes I buy so it’s definitely worth the money if it’s a nail colour you’ll use a lot.
I always love receiving The Body Shop products because I like to treat myself to the odd thing from there every now and again – usually one of their gorgeous smelling hand creams. I wouldn’t usually go for a lipgloss as I’m more of a matte girl but I have started to warm to having a glossy lip in the Summer. The Body Shop recommends that you can either wear it over a lip colour or just on its own. I’ve been exfoliating my lips with a lip scrub and then applying this over the top as it has a nude tint to it which works really well as a stand alone product without the need for lipstick underneath. I’ve found that this little lip care routine has left my lips in really great condition as they can get really dry in the Summer. I can tell I’m going to get a lot of use out of this product. The only downside is that it’s very sticky so I only wear it if I’ve got my hair up as otherwise it ends up sticking all over my face.
I would definitely never pay this much for a lip product but I was excited as the previous Estee Lauder products I’ve received in Look Incredible boxes have been really lovely. However, I was sure that I recognised this product; sure enough, I rifled through my lipstick collection and I already had this exact shade from a previous box. Initially, I wasn’t too happy about the repeat of the same product. However, they do recommend throwing out your lipsticks within 3-6 months and I did receive the first one just under a year ago so I suppose it acts as a healthier replacement. The shade is absolutely gorgeous, a cool-toned vibrant red that I will definitely get a lot of use out of in Autumn.
This is the only product that really fell flat for me this month which I think is pretty good going as I usually only really get use out of one or two products. Fusion Beauty instruct that you should roll the product across areas where you want to conceal wrinkles and shadows such as laughter lines and the under-eye area. It’s supposed to fill in any lines as well as highlight dull areas but I can honestly say that I feel like it literally did nothing for me. Admittedly, I’m only 23 but I still have a few wrinkles starting to appear and I’ve always been self conscious about how prominent my laughter lines are. I was really hoping this product would at least minimise the problem but unfortunately I saw absolutely no difference.
