‘Look Incredible’ Beauty Box Review: April/May 2018

For those of you that are new to my blog, I’ve been subscribed to a beauty box called Look Incredible for quite a while now. The box costs £25 a month and includes five full-sized products, a lot of them from well-known brands. I’ve always loved how these boxes give me the chance to try out higher end products without having to splurge on them. This month’s subscription box could not come quick enough, I really do miss getting one every month as Look Incredible recently starting doing their boxes as a bimonthly subscription instead. I’m getting more and more tempted to try out a different subscription box; although I have loved receiving these boxes, they’re not as great as they used to be in my eyes and only getting one box every two months now is a big deciding factor for me! I would love to know which subscription boxes you guys love, so please let me know at the end. Anyway, here’s everything I received in my latest box.

True Isaac Mizrahi Perfect Palette With 3 Brushes – £21.99

I was so pleasantly surprised with this True Isaac Mizrahi palette – I’ve never heard of this brand before but how cute is the packaging?! I love the brightly coloured floral design on the front. The contour/bronzing shade is suitable for paler skin which I love as a lot of the time I find that travel palettes are too dark for me but this shade suits my skin well. There is also a little concealer in the palette but unfortunately it’s darker than what I usually go for and just didn’t want to blend out at all. The eyeshadows are pretty impressive, the pigment is amazing and they blend out so easily. I love that even though there’s only a few shades, it’s quite a versatile choice of colours as you could go for a brighter look or a natural nude eye. The translucent powder does a really good job of setting areas such as under my eyes and t-zone – the only thing I can actually fault here is the concealer. The palette came with three travel-friendly brushes as well which is really handy and the quality of them feels really nice. If you’re looking for more travel suitable make-up, this is a little star!

Rodial XXL Lip Liner in ‘Nude’ – £9.00

Look Incredible include a leaflet with each box that gives a description of each product included and the description of this lip liner sounded really interesting. I’ve received a fair few lip liners in the past that admittedly just end up at the bottom of my make-up drawer but this one is said to have a plumping element which I hadn’t heard of in a lip liner before. Unfortunately, this product is pretty much unusable – the pencil is really dry to the point I can’t seem to get any product out of it. It’s a shame because the colour is gorgeous and would go really well with a lot of my lipsticks. I read some reviews of this product to see if anyone else had the same problem and it seems that a lot of people have had the same issue. There’s also a lot of complaints about not being able to sharpen the pencil or it breaking off completely. Huge pass from me, sorry Rodial.

Jelly Belly Body Butter Set – £12.99

I absolutely love Jelly Belly beans – bubblegum flavour ones all the way. I was pretty excited to open these up and have a smell. There were three scents included; vanilla, chocolate pudding and coconut. The vanilla one is definitely my personal favourite as vanilla is one of my all-time favourite scents but the other two smell pretty amazing as well. The only downside is that the consistency is quite thick and a little bit difficult to get out of the tubs. For this reason, I probably won’t really get any use out of them which is a shame as I’d happily walk around smelling like Jelly Belly.

Borghese Superiore State-of-the-Art Mascara – £14.00

I’m never really too struck on receiving mascaras in subscription boxes because 9 times out of 10, the quality is pretty poor and I never use them more than once. However, I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I would actuallly say this is pretty similar to my trusty Maybelline Lash Sensational as it builds up really well, making my lashes look thicker and longer without being clumpy. The only slight let-down is that the formula is quite wet so it takes a while to apply and you have to be really careful as it’s easy to make a mess around your eyes. This is another brand I’ve never heard of before but I’d definitely like to try more products from them.

Urban Decay Lip Love Honey Infused Lip Therapy in ‘Drizzle’ – £12.99

This is probably the star of the box for me as I’ve been using it on a daily basis since I received it. I love anything honey scented and this smells so good, I almost want to eat it. This is a clear gloss and it is meant to heal and hydrate your lips which it definitely does. My lips have been feeling a little worse for wear lately but this definitely helped to get them back in good condition. My only dislike is that it’s really sticky so when it’s windy, my hair ends up sticking to my lips which is a little bit annoying. It hasn’t stopped me using it though as I really love how soft it makes my lips feel.

Have you ever used any subscription services like Look Incredible – if so, which one has been your favourite so far?

I’ve been reading so many sub box reviews recently and it’s making me miss mine so much! I used to get so excited for it to arrive every month even if it was only a small one. I got so excited seeing the Jelly Belly butters as their products always smell so sweet and gorgeous, I LOVE the sound of the chocolate pudding one! Such a shame the consistency isn’t that great though, maybe leave them on the radiator? Haha! The palette sounds amazing and the little brushes are adorable too! I’m always looking for travel size things as I hate taking my proper full sized palettes away with me. I can’t believe you got an Urban Decay product in this box too, the idea of ‘lip therapy’ sounds brilliant to me even if it is a bit sticky! Love your photos in this aswell girl 😍

Ahh you should try one out, even if it’s just a cheap one, it’s like a nice little surprise present to yourself! That’s actually not a bad idea, might help make them a bit more usable as they do smell really amazing. I know, I was so happy to get an UD product! Bagged a right gooden there. Thank you lovely xx

Oh wow, the packaging on the first palette is so cute and I love the three little bruhses you get as well, they’re actually adorable – I personally don’t think I would get much use out of the bright pink sade though.. 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ Urban Decay is such a popular brand, I never thought someone like them would be involved in a subscription box like this, so that’s great! 🙊 I know that I would hate the stickiness of it as well though, I’m constantly fighting with my hair and trying to get it out of my mouth.. 😂

I know, I’m so in love with the floral design on the lid! Super cute. Yeah I was pretty thrilled to get an UD product, I didn’t realise they did products in subscription boxes so it was really cool to receive something from them to try out. Yeah that’s the only annoying thing! x

Oh my god, those jelly bean butters look amazing!! I’d love to start getting a sub box every month so I might have to do a bit of research into some good ones like this! Gorgeous photos as well! xx

I’ve never heard of any of these brands before except for Urban Decay! I really like the sound of the True Isaac Mizrahi palette and the brushes look really soft. My lips are always really dry and I love UD products so I need to add the lip therapy to my wishlist! Xx

It’s a pretty cool palette! I’d definitely recommend it. You should definitely give the lip therapy a go, it’s so good for dry lips! xx

Ahh that’s a shame about the Rodial lip liner – I’ve heard good things about the brand from Lydia Millen on her channel so had high hopes when you said you’d received something from them! Loved the sound of the vanilla Jelly Belly cream – vanilla is my all time fave!! Great post lovely – I’d love to hear if you find another subscription box as I’ve never tried one before! Xx
