You may be wondering why the title says ‘October’ when it’s now November. I’ll be honest with you, it’s because I’m forgetful as hell. I’ve been paying a lot of attention to producing my upcoming Blogmas posts and completely forgot to post my monthly Look Incredible review. I should be receiving my November one sometime around now so this is very overdue. Alas, here we are. If you don’t already know, Look Incredible is a beauty box subscription service that costs £25 a month for a regular box or £35 for a deluxe box. I’m subscribed to the regular £25 boxes and I receive five high-end, full-sized products each month that add up to well over the £25 price tag. These are the products I received in my October Look Incredible box.
Living Proof Full Thickening Cream – £14
Honestly, I’m very unlikely to use this product because I already have really thick hair and lots of it. I feel like it would just become uncontrollable if I made it any thicker! However, I have read some reviews on this product though and they’re all pretty positive. A lot of people have said that it has really helped to make their fine hair noticeably thicker. It’s also safe for colour treated hair and is free from silicones – it’s definitely a product I’ll be passing along to friend or relative that will get good use out of it.
Lord & Berry Ultimate Lip Liner in ‘Bare’ – £11
I really liked the Lord & Berry lip liner I received in my August Look Incredible box so I was excited to get one in a different shade as well. I really love the formula of their lip liners, I often find that a lot of lip liners can be a bit scratchy and unkind on my lips but these glide on like a dream. The last lip liner I had was double ended and priced at £22 which I personally thought was a bit steep for a lip liner but this one is a lot more affordable. The only thing I’m not too struck on is the actual colour as I don’t really wear nude lipsticks, they just don’t seem to suit me. Lord & Berry are definitely doing something right with their formula though, they’re one of the best lip liners I’ve tried.
Clinique A Different Nail Enamel in ‘Made of Steel’ – £12
Last month I said that I don’t really get too excited over receiving nail varnishes because I usually go to a nail salon to get them done. However, I want to start saving my money and I figured that cancelling my salon visits will help so I’m starting to do my own nails again. In every Look Incredible box you get a leaflet to tell you about each product; for this product there were photos of a few brightly coloured shades and I was excited to know which of them I’d received. However, it turned out to be a black charcoal colour which isn’t what I was expecting. I think this would be a great shade for Halloween as I’d received the box before then but I don’t usually go for black nail varnish any other time. I did try this out and it doesn’t seem to last very long on my nails, this was without using a top coat though so perhaps that would help. This was a nice little Halloween-themed treat for the time of year but I wouldn’t spend my money on this product, there are drugstore nail varnishes that last way longer and are more affordable.
Sleek Hypnotic Kit – £13.99
This is the thing I was most excited to receive this month because I’ve been wanting to try out some Sleek products for a while. This kit contains two products so I feel like I got a bonus product this month which is never bad! There’s the Solstice Highlighting Palette as well as the Matte Me Liquid Lipstick in the shade ‘Birthday Suit.’ I’m absolutely loving both of these products, I’ve used the matte lipstick quite a few times already. It’s so comfortable on your lips and lasts a really long time, two things that you need in a liquid lipstick. I also really love the shade, it reminds me of Tanya Burr’s ‘Martha Moo’ which is one of my all-time favourite products. As for the highlighting palette, the colours are absolutely stunning and they’re the perfect amount of highlight. There’s one cream highlight and three powders; admittedly I probably won’t use the cream shade as I prefer powdered highlighters but I can’t wait to play around with the other colours. This is such an amazing little kit, it would make a perfect Christmas gift and I think it’s incredibly affordable as well.
The Body Shop Shea Exfoliating Sugar Body Scrub – £15
I’m pretty much obsessed with anything The Body Shop, everything I’ve tried just seems to make my skin feel so happy and silky. My skin usually starts to feel a bit dry and sad in the Winter so this will be perfect to use in the shower to give it some love. Just like everything The Body Shop bring out, it smells amazing and I’ll be using this product right to its bitter end. I’d be more than happy to receive more The Body Shop products in future subscription boxes – just a little hint, Look Incredible.
So that’s what I received in my October box. Again, apologies for posting so late – you’ve got to forgive a girl for getting so over-excited for Blogmas. My November one will be coming up soon, I can’t wait to see what’s inside! Have you tried any of the products from this month?
