October has definitely been a busy month for me! I took on a little personal challenge for myself by promising that I will post regularly and work harder to produce content that I can be proud of. I set myself three main goals for the month; to blog more consistently, to broaden the topics that I blog about and to continue to support other bloggers. Working full-time, trying to maintain a gym routine and blogging two times a week has proved to be tricky at times but I feel so good for doing it. I know two times a week might not sound a lot as others have posted every day (you guys are amazing) but it’s such a personal achievement for me. It’s felt so good each time I’ve published a post this month as I worked really hard on every one. Any positive feedback I’ve received has felt so rewarding and I really appreciate every single person that’s took the time to read, comment, like or just generally support my content – thank you so much. So, I thought I’d do a little overview of everything that I’ve posted during Blogtober so that you can recap if you wish or have a browse if you’re new to my blog.
One of my favourite things about Autumn is the fashion, I rate Autumn/Winter fashion so much higher than Summer clothing. You’ve just got to love big snuggly jumpers, scarves, coats and anything burgundy or mustard. I went browsing online and generated a pretty long Autumn-themed wishlist of my favourite bits – it proved very hard to cut it down. Warning: there’s a lot of jumpers, I just couldn’t help myself.
I love Autumnal colours like deep reds and burnt oranges so I decided to incorporate these into three different make-up looks that are perfect for this season. This is one of three make-up based posts I created for Blogtober and I’ve really enjoyed making these types of posts, getting creative has been so fun. There’s a date night look (as pictured above), a berry coloured eyeshadow and also a bit of an adventeurous burnt orange eyeliner! Go and take a look.
Things got a little bit spooky as I talked about my biggest fears. I wanted to include a couple of personal, chatty blog posts to encourage discussions in the comments because I love interacting with people. It found it really interesting to hear about what other people are afraid of and how common some fears are. If you haven’t already, head over to the post and let me know if you have any phobias of your own!
I find fancy dress so fun, I love getting creative and trying out different looks. Another thing I love is Disney so I decided to combine the two and create three Disney villain inspired make-up looks. These were so fun to do and I had some great feedback on them which has really motivated me to want to do more posts like these. What looks would you like to see me do in the future? Make sure to let me know at the end, I’d love to hear your ideas.
One thing that I always seem to find myself doing is reading my horoscope, usually on Snapchat via the stories feature. I have no idea why I always read it because I don’t really believe in it but it’s interesting to see how weirdly accurate they can sometimes be. I decided to do a post on this, analysing an in depth description of my star sign to see how much it applies to me personally. This was another chatty kind of post and I loved that I’d inspired other people to check out their own star signs.
I made like Stevie Wonder and got very superstitious over on the blog – sorry, I’ve been waiting to use that line somewhere. I’ve heard of so many different superstitions over the years and I also asked over on Twitter to see what old wives’ tales people believe in. Some of them I had already heard of but others were so specific and uncommon! Although I don’t really have any superstitious beliefs myself, it was really interesting to read about all the different things that other people live by. Do you have any weird and wonderful superstitions of your own? Let me know over in the comments on the post!
Blogtober just wouldn’t have been Blogtober without some spooky fancy dress ideas! I created three simple, quick and affordable costume ideas for anyone that’s struggling to decide what to dress up as for Halloween. I really enjoyed creating these looks, I already can’t wait for next Halloween to come around so that I can think of even more looks to try out.
My favourite way to spend Halloween is to binge-watch loads of scary films – wrapped in a big fluffy blanket and armed with loads of snacks, of course. Horror films are probably my favourite genre so I generated a list of my top 10 favourites. Some of them are spooky, some of them are funny and all of them are perfect for Halloween night. Make sure to head over and let me know what your favourite scary films are, am I missing anything crucial?!
So here we are, at the end of Blogtober. If you took part in Blogtober too, make sure to let me know so that I can go and check your posts out! I’m in a little bit of denial at the moment because I don’t want it to be over yet but Blogmas will be coming up soon so there’s plenty to look forward to. What was your favourite post this month?
