I’m back with another month of Look Incredible! For those of you who don’t know, Look Incredible is a beauty box subscription service that costs £25 a month for a regular box or £35 for a deluxe box. I’m subscribed to the regular boxes and I really love them, you receive five high-end, full-sized products each month that end up being well worth your money. Anyone who read last month’s review will know that I was actually a little disappointed and having thoughts about unsubscribing – you can read more about that here. Luckily, they’ve come back shining this month with some products I’m absolutely loving so I’m here to stay for the time being. Here are the products I was sent for the month of September.
Ciaté Denim Manicure Set – £8.99
This is the one product I felt a little ‘meh’ about but I’ll explain why. One reason is that I don’t very often do my own nails anymore, I tend to treat myself to gel manicures once a month just because I hate waiting for them to dry and gel polishes last a lot longer so I don’t have to worry about them for a while. However, I do think this is a really cool little kit for someone that enjoys nail art and wants to try something new out. It’d make a great present to pass on to someone for Christmas or a birthday. Something that I did find off-putting though was that Ciaté haven’t actually made kits like these for a long while now so I feel like these have been left lying around for a while and just thrown in as a box filler. The nail varnish has all separated and I’m not sure if it’s usable but it might just need a good shake.
Masque Bar Lemon Sheet Mask – £7.50
This is one of my favourite things I’ve received so far, quite honestly. I love sheet masks as it is because they’re just so hydrating and perfect for chilling out but this one was a step above the rest in my opinion. First of all, it smells AMAZING. I love sweet smells and to me it smells exactly like sherbet, I felt like I could’ve eaten it. You’re supposed to apply it to your face and leave it on for 30 minutes which is a great length of time to just chill out and watch a Netflix episode or a YouTube video. It’s really cooling on your face so it helped to calm down any redness that I’m quite prone to and if you suffer from any swelling under your eyes or anywhere else, I think it’d be great for treating that too. This mask is basically dripping in product so when you take it off, there’s plenty to rub into your face and leave on overnight for extra softness. When I took this off my skin was absolutely glowing, I was staring at my face for ages in the mirror amazed at how radiant it had made me look. It also made my skin feel probably the softest it’s ever felt in a long time. The only downside I could find to this sheet mask is that it’s quite expensive compared to the usual drugstore ones I get but it made for such a lovely treat and made me feel absolutely glowing.
Coastal Scents Fall Festival Eyeshadow Palette – £14
This is the star of the show for me! I was so excited about receiving an eyeshadow palette because I love experimenting with new colours. I was really hoping it would be a good quality palette and I wasn’t let down. The pigment in a couple of the colours such as the darkest black one and a couple of lighter shades was a bit of a let down but all of the shimmery shades are honestly amazing! I’ve been reaching for this palette so much since I received it, I’ve been finding myself just applying one colour all over my lid with my finger which makes for a gorgeous pop of colour that’s really simple to achieve. My favourite shade at the moment is the orange-peachy colour, I’ve worn this a few times and had a few compliments on my eyeshadow. This palette is really great for travelling because it’s not too bulky and has a nice big mirror on the inside. This palette is also magnetic so you could pop any colours out that you don’t like and buy new ones to replace them if you wanted to which I thought was a really cool feature.
Bliss Multi Face-Eted All In One Anti-Ageing Clay Mask – £28
The first thing that impressed me about this product was the size – you get a massive 65g of product in this tub so I imagine I’ll get quite a few uses out of it. A little goes a very long way when applying this and it smells like peppermint which I love. You leave this mask on for around 7 minutes at which point it had hardened on my face and then take it off with a warm cloth. I will say that it was quite hard to get off, I used the warm cloth as advised but when I used my toner afterwards there was a black residue still on my face. However, this made my skin feel SO soft and smooth. It feels sort of tingly on your face when you’ve got it on so I maybe wouldn’t recommend this mask to anyone with sensitive skin as I feel like it could be quite irritable. I will be using up this product because I just love how smooth it made my skin feel.
bareMinerals Moxie Plumping Lipgloss in ‘Diva’ – £17
This product excited me mainly because of the colour – I’ve been really getting into my Autumnal shades like dark berry, burgundy and plum and this is such a gorgeous deep purple shade that is perfect for the season. When you apply it, there’s a slight tingly feeling which is what helps to plump your lips up and it does work quite well. It smells like peppermint which is also a plus because that’s one of my favourite scents. One thing I really don’t like is that unfortunately the formula is really sticky. I’m not usually a lipgloss sort of girl for this reason, I just get really annoyed if I can feel something on my lips and it makes your hair stick to your face. I don’t see me really reaching for this much – maybe on a day when I’ve got my hair up.
So that’s it for the September Look Incredible box! They’ve definitely rekindled my love for them this month, I was worried I was going to receive another let down box but I was loving this month’s product. I’ve got a real staple piece with the eyeshadow palette as I’ve been using it almost everyday since I’ve received it. I also love that Autumn was loosely incorporated as it’s a ‘fall’ palette and with the dark berry coloured lip product. I can’t wait to see what next month brings!
