For those of you who aren’t familiar with Moonlight Melts, this is a brand that makes the most gorgeous scented soy wax melts ever. I’ve never tried wax melts before, I’ve always just stuck to candles or reed diffusers but I’ve often found that the smell doesn’t seem to stick around for very long or just isn’t strong enough to really notice. Moonlight Melts completely solve this problem, they make my whole house smell absolutely amazing! Plus, a pack of four melts cost around £1.80 which is a mere fraction of the price of your average candle.
You’ll be absolutely spoilt for choice as far as scents go as there’s something for everyone. There’s sweet smells, floral smells and fruity smells plus loads more and they’re constantly adding to their selection so you’ll never run out of options. A few days after I bought my melts, they added a new collection of Autumnal scents such as ‘Gingerbread‘ and ‘Autumn Leaves‘ – I’ve got to get my hands on these as they’re right up my street! Some other amazing scents that grabbed my attention were ‘Clementine & Prosecco‘ and ‘Caramel Apple‘ but I’m not even exaggerating when I say I want to own every single one.
I decided to go for a box containing five different scents; I went for one called ‘Sweet Scents‘ priced at £8.99 which is saving you a little bit of money as opposed to buying five separately. This is a candy themed package and as sweet smells are my personal favourite, it only felt right to go for this one. These are the scents that were included in the box.
First of all, I was amazed to see that you can get glittery melts which is super pretty! Bubblegum is one of my all-time favourite tastes so I was excited to have it as a scent as well. This smells so much like bubblegum that I wanted to eat it but Moonlight Melts advises strongly against that so I gave it a miss. This is very sweet smelling which I love but I can imagine that some people might find it quite sickly. I’m actually in love with it though and part of me doesn’t even want to melt them because of how cool they look.
Coffee Caramel Cream
This is the scent I was the most excited for because I’m completely coffee obsessed. When I opened up the box, I could smell this one straight away and it just smells like the most heavenly dessert ever. The coffee smell is a little more discrete but you can definitely smell the caramel, it’s actually a mouth-watering kind of good. It immediately made me think that it’ll be perfect to burn in the Winter whilst snuggled up in your duvet with a good book.
This smells EXACTLY like the Parma Violet sweets so for anyone that’s a fan of these, this will be perfect for you. I don’t personally like the sweets but the violet element makes for a more calming scent that you could burn of a night time to help you relax. This one doesn’t smell as strong as the other melts, it’s a little more low key but I’m so impressed because this was the scent I was least excited for and yet I’m still in love with it. Honestly I don’t think Moonlight Melts can even let me down at this point, everything is just beautiful.
This makes me think of orange sorbet and made me crave it. I think the thing with sweeter smelling melts is that they make you crave sweet things so if you’re trying to be healthy I’d maybe steer away because it made me want to eat all of these sweet treats (the actual edible versions, not the wax melts of course). This one is fresher smelling than the others due to the citrus so it’d be nice to burn as an awakening morning scent.
I wasn’t sure what I was going to think of this scent but I think it might just be my favourite. Pink lemonade is one of my favourite drinks and this smells exactly like it, you can even smell the fizz if that makes any sense whatsoever. This is more of a summery scent to me because it makes me want to chill in the sunshine with a cold glass of pink lemonade. This is a stronger smelling melt and you can still smell it hours after burning it so if you’re looking for a really lasting scent, this is the melt you’ll be wanting.
I’m so impressed by Moonlight Melts and I wish them every success with their brand as they’ve got a truly great thing going on here. These melts went above and beyond my expectations so I definitely want to keep buying more scents to try out. I’ve officially been converted from a candle girl to a wax melts girl! Although, the word on the street is that they’re bringing out their own candle range soon so if you really don’t want to stray from using candles, you’ll still be able to experience all their gorgeous scents.
If you could have the perfect scent to fill up your room, what would you choose?
