Hello lovelies! It’s that time again where I review my monthly ‘Look Incredible’ box. If you don’t already know, this is a subscription box of beauty products – you can get the standard box for £25 a month or the deluxe version for £35. Although this box is on the pricier sider compared to other beauty subscription services such as Birchbox, you definitely get much more than your money’s worth as everything you receive is a high-end, full-sized product. Here’s what I received in August’s box.
NARS Cosmetics Monoï Body Glow II – £9.99
I was really excited to receive a NARS product but at the same time really nervous about using this. I’m always scared of using oils on my skin as my skin tends to get quite oily anyway. The smell of this is honestly amazing, it makes me want to jet off somewhere really sunny and lounge on the beach covered in this oil. This would be really nice with a natural tan to really enhance that healthy glow but unfortunately I’m quite pale. However, when I was reading reviews on this product some people suggested using this on your face instead of moisturiser and underneath your make-up like a primer. This tip worked amazingly, my skin looked so healthy and created a nice dewy finish for my make-up. And again because I must reinstate this – the smell, I’m obsessed.
Elizabeth Arden Mediterranean Body Shimmer with Puff – price not specified
I’ve never really been one for wanting to make my body look all shimmery and glittery so I was really sceptical about this product. I really didn’t want to put this all over my body so I decided to see how it would work as a highlighter. I used a fan brush to apply this on the tops of my cheekbones and under my eyebrow. Just as a tip, this product is insanely shimmery and poofs everywhere so you have to be really careful and light with your hand. However, if you’re quite sparing with the product it creates such a gorgeous and natural highlight. It’s perfect if you’re going for a bronzed, beach holiday look as the shimmer has a golden tint to it. One thing I found really strange about this product is that when I gave it a search on Google, there’s no official websites that stock this product and the most recent reviews date back to 2010. This product was sent as an alternative if you didn’t want to receive a fake tanning product so I’m sceptical as to whether they’ve just thrown in really old products to get rid of them, I could be wrong but it just seemed a little odd.
bareMinerals Loose Blush in ‘Beauty’ – £19.99
I rarely use blusher as my cheeks are naturally really red so I tend to just skip this step when I’m doing my make-up. This is also a darker blush colour than I’d usually go for because I only use a really subtle one if I do choose to use one. However, when swatching it on the back of my hand the pigment is really great so perhaps it would make a good eyeshadow colour. Unfortunately I wasn’t really excited by this particular product but that’s just down to personal preference and I can always pass it on to someone who will appreciate a good blusher.
Studio 10 Wake Up & Glow Lip/Cheek Flush in ‘Peach’ – £22
I’ll be honest and say that 2 in 1 products always make me feel a bit uneasy as it seems like a bit of a gimmick. As I said with the bareMinerals blush, I don’t really use blusher very often so I’m very unlikely to use this on my cheeks. That being said, it is a really lovely natural lip shade that would go with pretty much any make-up look. It’s really creamy and hydrating so I think this will be a good one to throw in my handbag for an everyday work lipstick. It doesn’t last amazingly long though, I’ve got cheaper drugstore lipsticks that only need one application to last me all day so I think the pricing is perhaps a little high.
Studio 10 Age Reverse Perfecting Lip Liner – £22
I’m really loving the idea of this product, one end is a lip liner and one end is like a pencil concealer so that you can tidy up around your lips if you’ve made any mistakes. No matter how much I apply lipstick I always end up with one part looking wonky so this is very handy for me! I’ve only swatched this on the back of my hand so far but I’m impressed with the consistency. A lot of lip liners tend to be quite scratchy and not very kind to your lips but this glides on nicely and has a fair amount of pigment. Again though, the price is quite steep for a lip liner but I do really love the added ‘mistake corrector’ element.
I’m always completely honest in my reviews and whilst I absolutely love Look Incredible and will continue to subscribe to their boxes, I wasn’t particularly excited about anything in this box. There didn’t seem to be much of a range of products as there were two cheek products and two products to make your skin glow whereas usually every product is totally different. I actually kind of wish that I’d upgraded to the deluxe version of the box this month because in the reviews I’ve seen, there’s a Too Faced palette included which is way more up my street than the products I received this month. I’m not going to give up on LI just yet because I’m still curious to see if it’ll pick back up next month so stay tuned!
Thank you so much for reading my post as always – have you tried any of these products? I’d also love to know if there’s any subscription boxes that you’re loving at the moment so don’t be shy and leave a comment below!
