I was super impressed with my last Look Incredible box and I get so excited for each monthly delivery. This beauty box costs £25 a month which includes delivery charges and they also offer a deluxe box for £35. All the items included are higher end brands and are all full-sized products as well. It works out at really great value for money as the items you receive total to at least double what you’re paying for the subscription. So, here is my review of the July 2017 box.
Estee Lauder Pure Colour Nail Lacquer in ‘Chaos’ – £15
I received a nail varnish again this month after having an Essie nail polish in my last box. I love building up my nail varnish collection but unfortunately this shade is actually a lot similar to last month’s nail varnish. I would have loved a more summery shade to go with the Summer season but this is a dark metallic shade. However, it’ll definitely be something to reach for when Autumn comes. I’ve never used an Estée Lauder nail polish before so I’m looking forward to seeing what the formula and lasting power is like. I love how Look Incredible gives me the chance to try out higher end branded products to see whether they’re worth the money before splashing out on the full priced products.
Kevyn Aucoin Eye Pigment Primatif in ‘Mistress’ – £18
I love the packaging of this product and it claims to prevent creases in your eye make-up which really appealed to me as I have quite hooded eyelids. However, I’m really confused with this product because it just really doesn’t apply well at all. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but when I apply this, it just crumbles up into lumps on my eyelids. I wasn’t sure if I had a faulty product or something but after reading reviews on this, a lot of people have actually experienced the same issue. It’s a shame because its actual purpose is something I would’ve benefited from and the shade looks gorgeous in the pot.
No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum – £22.50
I’ve never tried any skincare products from No7 before but I’ve heard great things so I was excited to try this out. Its main claim is that it prevents wrinkles and whilst I don’t really have any wrinkles yet, this product makes my skin feel amazingly soft. It also helps to repair and protect the skin so if you have any blemishes, this could be a good product to try for reducing dryness or scarring. I’ve been applying it before I do my make-up in the morning and it has helped my base to look a lot smoother and more flawless. I also had a couple of particularly dry patches that had randomly appeared on my face and this has really helped to reduce them.
Eucerin Even Brighter Night Cream – £7.99
This night cream claims to brighten your complexion so I was really excited to try this out as I suffer quite badly with dark circles. Unfortunately, this made me break out so badly! I applied this a couple of times before bed and over those two days, the skin around my nose and cheeks seemed to have a rapid increase of blackheads and pimples. This was really greasy on application and sits on top of my skin so I don’t feel like my skin is really taking anything in. However, other people have reviewed this product very positively and it’s important to remember that what doesn’t work on my skin could be perfect for someone else!
bareMinerals Statement Matte Liquid Lipstick in ‘Fresh’ – £15
I’ve actually been so excited to talk about this product! I love a matte lipstick but I’ve found that the majority are quite drying or become flaky. However, I’m absolutely in love with the formula of this liquid lipstick. It’s so creamy and actually makes my lips feel really hydrated and soft which isn’t something I find often in a matte lip. This has lasted through both eating and drinking which is great and I’ve had so many compliments when wearing this lip colour. It’s a bright blue-toned pink that is absolutely perfect for summer and will last you all day. I’m so tempted to go and buy this in more shades because the formula is well worth the money.
Overall, I’m a bit torn with this month’s box as I loved some products but strongly disliked others. However, I have found a holy grail in terms of liquid lipsticks and a great addition to my skincare routine so it wasn’t a complete let down. Even if I don’t love every product, I still feel like I got my money’s worth and I love being able to try out new high-end brands every month.
Has anything from this month’s box caught your eye?
