Petite Fashion: The Best Stores for Short Ladies

Being only 5ft 1 and always being the smallest person my age growing up, I’ve found that it can be a struggle to find clothes that fit properly. I’m always rolling jeans up or having to get things altered and I’m always falling in love with items of clothing just to find out they aren’t proportioned properly for my short self. However, more shops are starting to accommodate for vertically challenged people like myself and I’m seeing a lot more options. So, I thought I’d share my top 3 petite ranges with you to give any fellow short girls some ideas.

ASOS

ASOS have become my go-to for a while now. They have their very own petite range as well as displaying clothes from other brands such as New Look, Boohoo and Miss Selfridge. There’s currently over 1,000 petite options which is amazing as in the past, us short girls really haven’t had much selection. Their website makes it so easy to find what you’re looking for as you can specify your search to only show petite items, as well as narrowing it down further with colour selections and size availability. One of the best features is that if you specify your size, it only displays items in stock in that size which is something a lot of clothing websites actually don’t do. It saves you getting disappointed when you see something you love and it’s out of stock in your size. You can also save items to view again later, these stay saved for 60 days so it’s a good place to build up a wish list or keep an eye on items to see if they get reduced. The ASOS own brand petite clothing are a really good fit for me personally but I’ve found that some of the other brands they display can still be a little too long – however, you can easily return items free of charge and get your money back if you’re not happy with the fit.

You can shop for petite ASOS clothing here, I find it so hard not to just buy everything.

Topshop

On the Topshop website there are currently around 380 petite options, however the thing I find with Topshop is that if you’re petite but also a curvier lady like myself, there are a lot less options. I’ve found this mainly when shopping in store as most items are only available in smaller sizes and are very limited otherwise. The online shop always seems to have a lot more range for me. One thing I always head to Topshop for is jeans as size their women’s jeans in waist size and leg length rather than the usual UK women’s sizes. This is actually pretty hard to come by in most high street stores. I’d recommend measuring your leg length and waist size with a tape measurer and then going into a Topshop store and trying on a few sizes closest to your measurements. They have plenty of different styles and colours you can try out to see what works best for your body type and personal style – it’s just so great to have different options available that suit your proportions properly.

Topshop’s petite range can be found here, it’s well worth a browse.

Missguided

This is a website I will always recommend for someone that’s on a budget or loves a bargain – I definitely do! They currently have around 470 options in their petite section and they cater to SO many different styles. I’ve found with a large bulk of affordable sites that the clothing lacks in quality, materials are see-through and prone to damage. This is not something I’ve found with Missguided, I’m actually really impressed with how great the quality is considering how affordable their prices are. They’re also really good if you’re after a last minute outfit as they pretty much weekly offer either free or discounted next day delivery.

You can find Missguided’s petite section here, go and take a peek!

Hopefully I’ve given you shorter ladies some ideas for where to shop next – if you’re not shorter, these are still really amazing places to shop at with a huge amount of choices! If you have any questions or know of any other great petite ranges please comment below! Thank you so much for reading, now go and treat yourself.

Lovely post, I hate having to keep rolling jeans up because they aren’t in my length. I haven’t tried anything from Misguided before but will check them out!

Topshop is literally perfect, really long-lasting as well and sooo much choice – no rolling up needed! I have to get the absolute shortest length haha. You definitely should, they have some gorgeous stuff in at the moment. Thank you for your comment! x

It’s so good that brands are starting to cater more for all different shapes and sizes, I’m only 5 ft 3 but tend to just about fit in the normal ranges although I’m always the shortest leg in jeans haha! I never knew ASOS did such a wide range for petite, I’ll have to check it out! 🙂

It’s amazing, same with curvy ranges as well. In an ideal world every item of clothing would be available in every size, but I think stores are starting to step up with more selection at least. Thank you for commenting! xx
